ATAS (the Association of Turkish Alumni and Students in Scotland) is a Scottish charity (SC050674) dedicated to bringing together Turkish alumni and students in Scotland and beyond. Its core mission is to foster social and professional connections, encourage volunteering, and support academic and career development. Through collaborations with Scottish universities, Turkish student societies, like-minded charities, and local businesses, ATAS continually expands its network. They welcome opportunities to work with new partners and reach wider audiences.

ATAS matches eligible mentees with academics and professionals whose experience can provide practical guidance, perspective and encouragement over a one-year mentoring relationship.

Tell us about your background, goals, areas of interest and what you hope to gain from the mentoring relationship.

Match

The ATAS Mentorship Committee considers your expectations and available mentors with relevant academic or professional experience (3 weeks at maximum; if exceeded, please contact at alumni@atas.org.uk ).

Meet & Progress

Once matched, you agree how to work together, meet at least six times over the year and review progress as the relationship develops.

What Mentorship Can Support

Each mentoring relationship is different, but discussions may include:

✓ Goal-setting and confidence

✓ Relevant networks, resources and opportunities

✓ Sharing knowledge and practical experience

Who Can Apply?

Mentee applicants should meet the programme's current eligibility requirements.

✓ Be aged 18 or over

✓ Have previously received or currently be receiving higher education in Scotland

✓ Undergraduate, Master's, PhD and postdoctoral backgrounds are eligible

✓ Be able to engage reliably with the mentoring relationship

Where applications exceed available places, applicants who have not previously participated may be given priority.
